- Cylinder liner with silicon carbide coating in electroplated nickel form
- Cross cut with two diamond passes and very limited tolerances
- Processing on numerically controlled high-precision machines
- Cylinder-piston connection with a tolerance of 0.05 mm
- Recalculated and improved heat exchange surfaces
Pistons and piston rings
The ultra-compact piston has three rings and is made of a special aluminum alloy with a high silicon content and low thermal expansion. The sliding surfaces are coated with tin. The piston is reduced in weight and reinforced; its heat exchange surfaces have also been improved.
The ring set includes an I-ring made of nitrided and chrome-plated steel, a special cast ring as a second compression ring and a three-part wiper ring made of special chrome-plated steel alloy. The piston rings are designed for high sliding properties and high mechanical strength.
