Comprehensive care set for canvas, leather and split leather

This maintenance set was put together for the regular cleaning, care and preparation of unit garage accessories, bags and jackets made of canvas, smooth leather or split leather. Since not every product included is suitable for every material, the respective instructions must be followed before use.

Scope of delivery

• Cotton bag with Unit Garage logo
• Waterproofing spray
• Block of solid wax
• Black or brown color cream for smooth leather, contents 50 ml
• Soft cleaning brush with wooden handle
• Brush with brass bristles and wooden handle for split leather
• Cleaning disc for removing glue and sticky residue, 100 × 60 mm and 8 mm thick
• Microfiber cloth

Impregnation

The waterproofing spray is suitable for the regular treatment of accessories, bags and jackets made of leather, canvas or split leather. If necessary, the item can be cleaned beforehand with warm, clear water. The spray can be used on damp or dry material.

• Shake bottle before use
• Spray evenly from a distance of 10 to 15 cm
• Wipe with a clean, damp cloth to improve distribution and reduce waste
• For optimal results, allow to dry for 12 hours

Keep the spray out of the reach of children, avoid eye and prolonged skin contact and only use in a well-ventilated area.

Solid wax treatment

The frequency of care required depends on the use of the item in question. For regular use, resealing is recommended at least once a year.

• Remove dirt and sand
• Clean with a sponge and cold water
• Do not use soap or detergents
• Do not machine wash, dry clean, iron or tumble dry
• Work in a warm room or outside in the sun
• Before treatment, place the item in the sun or near a heat source
• Spread the wax carefully and evenly with a soft cloth or sponge
• Treat seams and folds with particular care
• Rub the wax in well and do not apply excessively
• For an even finish, heat with a hairdryer after waxing
• Hang the treated item in a warm place overnight

Color cream for smooth leather

The black or brown color cream is used to cover scratches and scuffs on smooth leather. It must not be used on split leather. First clean the area to be treated, then massage the cream in with a sponge. After 15 minutes of drying time, the surface is polished with a soft cloth.

Brushes and cleaning disc

• The soft brush allows for even, scratch-free cleaning.
• The brush with brass bristles is intended for cleaning and caring for split leather.
• The cleaning disc removes glue and sticky materials from leather or split leather. To do this, apply light pressure to the affected area and then clean it with a soft cloth.

Usage

The set is intended for matching accessories, bags and jackets made of canvas, leather or split leather and can be used regardless of the motorcycle model. It is therefore also suitable for maintaining the corresponding unit garage equipment for the BMW R 12, BMW R 12 nineT and BMW R 12 G/S.
