KAWASAKI ZX [2016-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle technology. Thanks to its innovative design, this state-of-the-art chain no longer requires regular relubrication, which was previously required every 1000 km. This feature offers motorcyclists a significant advantage by significantly reducing maintenance requirements while extending the life of the chain.

Regina's HPE chain has been extensively tested both in the lab and on the road and has proven to have a lifespan at least as long, if not longer, than a conventionally lubricated Z-ring chain. A key component of this performance is the tetrahedral amorphous carbon (ta-C) coating, one of the most advanced coatings in the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) group. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The ta-C coating combines extremely high hardness of the coated surface with a low coefficient of friction, resulting in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant application during operation helps minimize environmental impact. This technological innovation was made possible by intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
