MV AGUSTA F 4 [2005-2021] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-ring chain with rivet link sets new standards in motorcycle chain technology. This chain features innovative Z-ring technology that eliminates the need for regular lubrication, which is typically required every 1,000 km. This results in significant time and cost savings for the driver.

Extensive testing in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the durability of the HPE chain is at least as high, if not higher, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. Another outstanding feature of this chain is the Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C) coating, one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surfaces of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction leads to optimized performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and lubricant spraying during operation helps minimize environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
