YAMAHA XT 660 Z TENERE [2008-2012] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in performance and durability for motorcyclists. Thanks to its innovative design, this sophisticated chain does not require regular relubrication, which would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This not only offers a significant increase in comfort, but also improved driving efficiency.

Extensive testing in laboratories and on the road has proven that the service life of the HPE chain is at least as long, if not longer, than that of a conventionally lubricated Z-ring chain. A key advantage of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced forms of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings. This coating is applied to the surface of the chain's bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing the efficiency of secondary transmission.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction leads to optimized performance. Additionally, eliminating the need for chain cleaning and preventing lubricant splashes during operation minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
